Yesterday for Thanksgiving I got to once again enjoy my family's Japanese style Thanksgiving meal. Japanese style, meaning replacing the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc with... sushi! This new tradition started about a few years ago, when around one Thanksgiving-time, my mother said that she was tired of cooking similar meals for both Thanksgiving and Christmas (mashed potatoes, bread, green beans, corn etc.), so my parents decided to change the tradition for Thanksgiving and ordered sushi as the main dish. We haven't gone back ever since. So now during Thanksgiving instead of having turkey, lucky me, I get to eat some sushi. I really enjoy this new thing going on. :)
